Since the early 1980's IGI of Kreuztal,
Germany has been the leader in flight management systems for aerial
data collection. Today the CCNS4 is the most versatile and capable
flight management system available, with the great advantage of
suitability for all contemporary aerial camera systems, digital
cameras as well as film cameras, and other sensor systems.
The CCNS4 Standard System takes its
position information from the directional gyro of the aircraft and
an internal or external GPS receiver, firing the sensor at the exact
preplanned positions. The CCNS4 has assisted with over three million
aerial photos and many sensor missions, and users attest to the
increase in production and the decrease in costs it provides. Flight
planning is done on an office PC; the flight plan, on a PCMCIA card,
is inserted into the CCNS4 airborne computer which takes over the
job - producing a perfect mission every time.
AEROcontrol is based on an inertial
measurement unit and 12-channel DGPS receivers. The system offers a
.3 meter - .5 meter real-time accuracy, .1 - .2 meter post
aeriotriangulation accuracy, depending on the distance from the
ground based monitor station. All raw data is stored on PC-cards for
post-flight processing and can be introduced as an additional
observation into aerial triangulation programs.
